treeartist - Review & Giveaway (closed)

Lately, I have been on a search for artwork to add to my house. I wanted the real deal, no cheesy prints from a store but rather something hand painted by a unique artist and something that really spoke to me. When I stumbled across Jordanka's Etsy site, I was in awe! THIS was exactly what I was looking for. I winced, wondering if the price tag on something I had fallen in love with at first sight would make it impossible to own but was thrilled to see that I could have my very own painting for $30.00!

Jordanka and I have exchanged several emails and I have learned a thing or two about art. First and foremost, Jordanka's art are not prints. Each purchase is of a unique painting and no two are exactly alike. I am so drawn to her tree paintings, I had to know how they came to be. Why were trees the focus of her work? Jordanka says, "Inspiration comes from all around me, when I go for a walk or a drive. It also comes from deep within me. Each tree has a character and mystery about it. Trees are the breath of life and all life depends on them."

I find the trees in Jordanka's art to be so haunting. This, readers, was the item I was talking about when I was discussing Twilight a few days ago. Instantly upon seeing her art I thought of the books (I had not even seen the movie yet) and then once I saw the movie the connection was so real. Jordanka, on the other hand, has been painting these trees for years.

I was so very fortunate to be able to choose my very own painting to review. Oh what a hard decision it was! I mulled over it for days, and finally picked the painting that captured me the first time I visited the site. To the right is the one I am now the proud owner of. I don't have it framed yet so I just posted the photo from her site before I purchased it. (I bet you can't guess what I named it!)


The color in the digital image here is good but the color in the actual painting is just amazing. It's so rich, and the tree itself...so full of detail down to every last branch. It's evident Jordanka treasures every tree she creates in her work and makes each painting as amazing as the one before.


My husband loves Jordanka's work almost as much as I do, and we are planning on purchasing more of it in the very near future (in fact, he knows my birthday is this month and I've already hinted that another painting would be perfect!)

These paintings are small, about 2.5" x 3.5" and can be framed or used as a collectible. It takes enormous talent to paint something in such detail on a small scale like this, wow!
