Giggles Baby (closed)

I don't know one parent of a baby who hasn't experienced the 'fun' of having their little one randomly pushing keys on the keyboard while they are trying to do their online banking, write an email, or catch up with a friend online. My daughter's favorite trick is to push the on/off button on my laptop and then laugh hysterically when everything shuts down and I gasp in horror. It's not as bad as the experience a friend had with online banking. Do not, I repeat, do not pay bills online with a little munchkin on your lap. Enough said.

Giggles Baby is computer software specifically for babies 12-24 months old. There are other programs online geared towards babies but the problem I found with using them with my son when he was a baby is that he would still hit keys that would cause pop-ups, or he could simply turn off the computer with the push of a button. The first difference between those sites and the Giggles Baby software is that the Giggles Baby software essentially locks out everything else on your computer. Baby can happily tap away at the keyboard without any pop-ups appearing (even the ones from your own toolbars, the maximize/minimize window, etc.) AND best of all, we learned that even when my daughter tried to push the OFF button...nothing happened!!

We received Giggles Baby Nursery Rhymes and ABC's & 123's to review. We took the software with us when we went away for the weekend, thinking it would be a good distraction for our daughter without her usual toys around. She was so excited to be able to hit the keys on the computer keyboard without us stopping her. Adding to the excitement, the cute and colorful characters on the screen responded to her actions with songs, noises, and more graphics.

An added bonus was that my 4 year old was also interested in the program, because he got to show his little sister that hitting keys would result in a response from the characters on the screen. I noticed him more than once wandering over to the computer to randomly hit keys to see what would happen which I thought was pretty cute.

We've been having fun with this software in our house, and there's currently two other titles available to try (My Animal Friends and Shapes) as well as a fifth title being released this month.
