Garage Sale Cow

Garage Sale Cow is the (US) nation's biggest garage sale site. Visitors to the site can browse garage sales in their area absolutely free AND list their garage sale free as well. The site is very user friendly - when you enter in a zip code, the next page is a calendar listing how many garage sales on each day are found in that area. Next, clicking on the date brings visitors to a map with the locations pin pointed. Clicking on the location of the pin then opens up more info about the garage sale including the date(s) and time(s) and relevant items available. I know garage-sale-professionals (those who seek and find the most amazing deals) will absolutely love a site like this! If you are an amateur garage sale shopper, have faith, treasures are found by shoppers all the time.

The site is also full of great extras including templates to make your own garage sale flyer, and also information about the Garage Sale Cow Find of the Week! Garage sale shoppers can submit their prized finds right on the site to share with the rest of us.

My best garage sale find was actually found by my mom. About 7 years ago she was at a garage sale and came across a Care Bears Cousin Loyal Heart Dog. Knowing that I collected Care Bears she paid the $1 and gave it to me. It needed some washing so the stuffed toy sat on my laundry room floor for a few weeks before it was his turn to be washed (thankfully I used a laundry bag). I decided to check eBay to see how much this particular item was listing at and nearly fell off my chair. Apparently it was a rare find and only sold in the UK in the 80's. So, I decided to list my Care Bears Cousin Loyal Heart Dog and hope for the best. The result? I sold the dog for $450 US! The US/CAN exchange was really brutal back then and I ended up with $600 Canadian for a $1 purchase!

Are you inspired to start being a garage sale bargain hunter this summer? Make Garage Sale Cow your first stop!

Do you have an amazing garage sale story to share? Garage Sale Cow wants to help inspire others to get out there and hopefully find some awesome treasures. Comment here sharing your best garage sale find (maybe it wasn't a money maker like mine but resembled a favorite toy as a child, etc). 1 reader is going to be randomly selected to win a $25 Paypal Transfer from Garage Sale Cow!

I think the best yard sale find were the bag of old costume jewelry my mom got me when I was 7. I LOVED those garish colorful sparkly old pieces and wore them until they fell apart. I kept some of the brighter and sparklier beads and keep them in a special bag so I can always remember how a simple gift can make a child so happy.

I love Garage sales. I think my best find was a brand new Treadmill with all the bells and whistles that I found last year. The guy just wanted it gone, it was the end of the day, so he gave it to me for free. I still use it everyday!!

We went to a garage sale in the next town over, we saw a really neat antique phone (The one where you take off the talk part an speak into it) Anyway, We LOVED it and thought it would be a neat decoration to hang in the garage, or even in the house. Well we turned it over and It had our Address on it. WE BOUGHT IT IMMEDIATELY. Did some research and found out it was the first phone ever to be put in that house and it was manufactured in 1888, so our house was older than we thought... We were told it was a 1920s house! It's now proudly hanging in our laundry/mud room! THANKS

The best garage sale find isn't a money maker nor is it an antique but after our house burned down, we had no Christmas decorations for the new house. So we went to garage sales and I found 2 perfectly good lighted reindeer that I still currently use. This was over 7 years ago!

My husband and I found some old lady selling stuff at a yard sale in the middle of nowhere. She had a box of baseball cards in plastic sleeves, and my husband offered her $50 for the box, and I was ready to kill him since that's all we had on us. Turned out the box had old mickey mantle and other insanely great cards in good condition. He ebayed and sold them all, nice tidy profit!

My best garage sale find was from an estate sale. There was a shoe box full of odds and ends jumbled up costume jewelry. The box was marked "any 2 items for a dollar" but it was the end of the day, and the lady told me I could take the whole box for 5 dollars.
When I got home and began sorting it, I found a genuine Tiffany's sterling silver bracelet among the items!

A class mate of mine died unexpectedly. Years later I was at a garage sale and found pictures of her taken in the last month of her life by a fellow student back then who himself died recently in a house fire. I was able to give the pictures to her mother, who was saddened but thrilled to have new pictures of her. It was bad one way and eerie good another.

It is limited edition and retired. I bought it for $2 in perfect condition and still in the box. I looked on ebay to see what the running price was and it was selling for almost $90. I actually have two best finds from this past spring. {I love yard sales in FL!!} The first...a lady told my son he could have this train set if he could carry it to the car. My son was 4 and the box was huge! With sad little eyes, he told her he couldn't carry it and then started to walk away. Of course, she was a wonderful lady and let me carry it to the car. It made his entire day. When we got home, I looked it up online. Everything she had given his was worth over $100!

The second was a marble run set that I got for $1. My son had wanted it really bad, but it cost over $70. He was again very excited {and so was I} when I got it for $1!!
